Theam Leads Army in First Round of Lee Memorial Collegiate

KENSINGTON, CT – The Army West Point golf team started the 2022 season with the first round of the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate Tournament and finished the first 18 holes at 3-under par.

The Black Knights shot a team score of 281 on the first day and Sacred Heart had the lead with a score of 273. Kevin Lyndon of La Salle has the lead after the opening round with a 10-under 61.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
• Dragon Theam led the Black Knights with a 6-under 65 on Saturday with six birdies and he didn't drop a shot throughout his entire round.
• Theam is in third place on the leaderboard and five strokes back of the leader.
• Joshua Kim finished even par in his first round of the season with a 71. He rebounded after an opening double bogey to score three birdies in the next four holes.
• James Ballato had a steady round, going 1-over par with a 72 and had five birdies on the day.
• Marshall Daniel opened his year with a 2-over 73 for the Black Knights. He was consistent throughout and only dropped shots on two holes.

The Black Knights are back in action tomorrow morning for the final round of the tournament at Shuttle Meadow Country Club.
