ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The third-seeded Black Knights ousted No. 6 seed Colgate, 4-0, in the 2022 Patriot League Championship Quarterfinals on Friday. The Black Knights advance to the semifinals where they will face No. 2 Lehigh on Saturday at 2 p.m.
DOUBLES (3,1)
The Black Knights battled their way to winning the doubles point. In three doubles, the team of Jake Huarte and Nathan Jose topped Josh Israel and Mike Thomas, 6-3. The No. 1 team – Thomas Lake and A.J. Woodman – outlasted Nate Roming and Jack Selati, 6-4, to clinch the point for Army.
SINGLES (4,1,5)
Army won the necessary three singles matches in succession to win the match. The first singles victory in four singles with Lake beating Mike Thomas, 6-0, 6-4. In No. 1 singles, senior Diego Huttepain got past Jack Selati in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 to give Army a 3-0 lead. The Black Knights clinched the match when Samuel Haikal defeated Benito Vlassis, 6-4, 6-3, in five singles.

- Diego Huttepain won his team-leading 10th singles match this spring.
- Samuel Haikal has won five straight matches in singles which is the longest win streak on the team.
UP NEXT
- Army advances to the semifinals to face second-seeded Lehigh on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Black Knights fell to Lehigh, 4-0, on April 15.
