Nichtern Tabbed As Patriot League Offensive Player Of The Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Brendan Nichtern has been named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season announced on Monday.
Nichtern led the Black Knights in points with nine as he helped guide No. 12 Army to wins over No. 14 Syracuse and Holy Cross last week.
Nichtern continued his rise up the Army West Point all-time leader list in points, goals, and assists in the two games. In the win over Syracuse for the program's first consecutive wins against the Orange in 49 seasons, he notched a game-high six points on four goals and two assists. He moved into second on the all-time scoring list, passing Jeremy Boltus '11 (214).
In the conference opener on March 6, he shared game-high honors in assists with three to move to 15 assists away from tying Tim Pearson '02 for the all-time mark. He is 16 points away from tying Pearson for first on the scoring list.
Nichtern leads the league in assists per game (3.67) and points per game (6.5) while ranking third and fourth, respectively, in the nation. His career 3.02 assists per game lead the nation amongst active players.
The Black Knights, who are ranked 12th in the Inside Lacrosse and USILA Polls, are on the road to face Lafayette on Saturday, March 12 at 12 p.m.
