Swimming & Diving Completes Army Invite
February 12, 2022 | Men's Swimming and Diving, Women's Swimming and Diving
WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point swimming & diving team completed a successful weekend at the Army Invite on Saturday afternoon at Crandall Pool.
Over the course of two days, the Black Knights competed mainly against themselves in a slew of different events as "last chance" opportunities to record times ahead of the Patriot League Championships and the rest of the postseason. Additionally, the Army women's team had the pleasure of hosting swimmers from Stony Brook, whose postseason was cancelled.
The weekend was highlighted by 25 different lifetime bests in the pool to go along with three personal bests from divers. Additionally, the senior tandem of Hannah Percher and Nate Wilson closed out their careers by swimming their way to personal records in each of the three respective races they competed in.
Full results from the meet can be found HERE.
Coach's Corner
"We couldn't be happier with the performances at the Army Invite. To get to watch Hannah Percher and Nate Wilson both finish their career going three-for-three on lifetime bests was incredibly special for the whole team and the highlight of the meet. We are so grateful for both Hannah & Nate and their contributions to the team over the last four years. This weekend as a whole set the tone for the rest of the season. We can't wait to carry this momentum and energy that the Army Invite swimmers created into Patriots next week and finish what they started." – Brandt Nigro
What's Next
The Black Knights will have a quick turnaround before heading to the Patriot League Championships, which run from Wednesday, Feb. 16 – Saturday, Feb. 19. Navy will host the meet at Lejeune Hall and the event will be streamed on ESPN+.
