Kovaci Lee records 300th win as Volleyball Wins Seventh Straight

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army Black Knights (17-8, 13-2) defeated the Colgate Raiders (21-5, 13-2) in four sets, securing their seventh consecutive win on Saturday afternoon.
Head Coach Alma Kovaci Lee recorded her 300th career win on Sunday afternoon, the second most in program history. "I feel Honored and blessed to serve West Point but the credit goes to the awesome team now, the teams throughout the years and excellent coaching staff that I call (my) friends," said Kovaci Lee. "Your team becomes your family. I am humbled and blessed to be part of a great army volleyball family."
Match Synopsis
Army took the first set by a score of 27-25, scoring eight of the last nine points from trailing 24-19, highlighted by three straight kills, two by Paige Fixemer and one by Julia Johnson.
In the second set Colgate responded 25-16. Army then rattled off wins in sets three and four by scores of 25-22, and 25-17.
Army rallied in the third set again from trailing 17-11, scoring seven straight to take a 18-17 lead, highlighted by back-to-back aces from Riley Parchment. Colgate responded to tie in at 20 all, before Army scored five of the last seven points scored including back-to-back kills by Allanah Cutler to seal the set.
"I'm just incredibly proud of our team tonight," said Kovaci Lee. "It is great to see the team play great ball towards the end of the season. Colgate is one of the best teams in the conference and at times they make opponents not play their best. Tonight, our team had an excellent combination of grit, passion and poise."
In the fourth and final set, Army led comfortably seeing leads of 11-5, 15-9 and a final of 25-17.

- Diana Ethridge had a double-double with 49 assists, and 11 digs, her fourth double-double in the last five matches.
- Savannah Bray and Allanah Cutler also had double-doubles in the contest. Bray recording 11 kills and 13 digs and Cutler logging 17 kills and 18 digs.
