HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Army Black Knights fell to the Navy Midshipmen in the Patriot League Semifinals by five sets with a final score 3-2. Army's Savannah Bray and Julia Johnson led the team with 14 kills.

Match Synopsis
In the Patriot League Semifinals, the Black Knights faced the Midshipmen in an exciting five match competition, the Midshipmen bested Army with a final score of 3-2.

In the first set Army got on the board first with an attack error by Ashley Warren, the Midshipmen answered back with a with a 5-0 run when the Black Knights got on the board again by a service error by Jamie Llewellyn. Army continued to fight back against Navy, the Black Knights got within four points with the help of a service ace by junior Paige Fixemer. Ultimately the Midshipmen took set one.

In the third set, the Black Knights took an early 2-0 lead, with kills from Bray. Navy answered back with a kill from Ashley Warren, putting Navy within one point. With both teams tied at 9-9, Army went on a 3-0 run before Navy got a point off an attack error. Scoring between the two teams went back and forth throughout the match before the Black Knights took set three with a kill from Paige Fixemer and a service error by Averi Miller

Navy got on the board first with an early 2-0 run in the fourth set. Allanah Cutler answered back with a kill. The Black Knights went on a 5-0 run giving Army a three-point lead. Navy went on two 3-0 runs giving the Midshipmen a 14-10 lead. The Black Knights answered back with a 3-0 run of their own, cutting Navy's lead to one point. Ultimately, the Midshipmen pulled past Army to tie everything up 2-2, forcing a fifth set.

In the fifth set, Army and Navy went back and forth. With both teams getting within one-two points of each other Army went on a 6-0 run with kills from Bray, and Cutler, as well as two attack errors by Navy. The Black Knights were at match point when the Midshipmen cut the lead tying everything up. The Midshipmen took another lead with the help of a service ace. Fixemer answered back with a kill, but Navy received two match points, one of which was a kill by Anna Klemeyer defeating Army with a final score of 18-16.

Julia Johnson also led the team with 14 kills, 15 points, and 3 digs.
Paige Fixemer had 13 kills, 1 service ace, and 16 points.

Diana Ethridge had a double-double with 50 assists and 17 digs, her third double-double in the last four matches.
