Volleyball Clinches Share of Regular Season Title with Sweep Over Loyola Maryland

BALTIMORE, MD. – Army West Point women's volleyball swept the Loyola Greyhounds in three sets, securing its eighth consecutive win on Saturday afternoon. With Saturday's win, the Black were name Patriot League Co-Regular Season Champions for the first time since 2009 and will receive a first-round bye in the Patriot League Championships.
Also 14-2 in the league, Colgate will host as the #1 seed after holding the tiebreaker over the Black Knights.
Match Synopsis
Continuing where they have left off against Colgate, Army bested the Greyhounds in a thrilling first set 26-24. Junior Paige Fixemer had four kills and a service ace. The Black Knights went back and forth until Fixemer had a kill, giving Army a 25-24 lead as well as a service ace from Riley Parchment, giving the Black Knights the first set victory.
In the second set, the Black Knights continued to go back and forth. Army went on a five-point run until Loyola's Cecylia Guye got a kill cutting the Black Knights lead to 11-8 and followed with a two-point run. However, Army answered back with a kill from Kai Nickerson. The Black Knights went on another four-point run with a kill from Fixemer and two service aces from Allanah Cutler.
In the third set, Loyola went on a 4-0 run, immediately, Army answered back with three-points, Cutler had another kill, followed by a service ace by senior Sayler Butters, and an attack error by Loyola's Megan Bukala. Army went on another 3-0 run with a kill and service ace from Cutler, and a handling ball error by Loyola's Ashley Dwyer, giving Army a 15-13 lead. The Black Knights finished the night off with a four-point run, with Army's Savannah Bray kicking things off with a kill. Army secured the win with an attack error by Bukala.

- Kai Nickerson led the Black Knights with 11 kills, and a hitting percentage of .526.
- Paige Fixemer had 10 kills, one assist, and one service ace.

The Black Knights will compete in the Patriot League Championship Semifinals, hosted by Colgate, on Saturday November 19, with an opponent to be determined.
