HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Army Black Knights had their three-game win streak snapped in a 76-57 defeat to the Colgate Raiders on Monday.
GAME SUMMARY
Army entered Monday's night contest with the defending Patriot League champion sitting in an early-season tie for first place with a 3-0 record in league play. The Black Knights, who built a 10-point lead in the first half, led early in the second half before the Raiders seized control.
After a scoreless opening three minutes by both teams, Army gradually built a lead 17-11 behind Chris Mann's eight points heading into the final 10 minutes of the half. Mann scored his tenth point at the free-throw line to give Army a 22-12 lead with 7:27 left in the half.
The Black Knights led 24-18 with four minutes left in the half before the Raiders closed the half on a 12-3 run. Colgate scored 10 straight points to take a 28-24 lead. Jalen Rucker halted the run with a 3-pointer, but Colgate scored a layup in the final seconds for a 30-27 lead at halftime.
Army scored four straight points to open the second half to regain the lead at 31-30. However, the Raiders answered by scoring seven straight points as part of a 22-4 run over the next 7:27. Colgate maintained a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game with the closest Army would get was 12 points.

COACH'S CORNER
"We did a great job on the defensive glass in the first half. In the second half, they got 10 offensive rebounds and scored 14 second-chance points. They were a lot more physical around the basket, and we weren't as physical as we needed to be on the defensive end. We were a little impatient offensively. They did a great job of packing the paint and we have been good at getting to the rim. Colgate were determined to be the tougher team for 40 minutes and they out-toughed us throughout the second half." – Jimmy Allen
