The Stephens Cup, a national college golf tournament, will debut October 17-20, 2021, with the goal of featuring one of the strongest fields in collegiate golf. Named in honor of the late Augusta National Chairman, Jackson (Jack) T. Stephens, the inaugural Stephens Cup will be played at The Alotian Club in Roland, Ark.
In addition, Golf Channel will provide live broadcasts on each day of official tournament play: Monday, Oct. 18: 4-7 p.m. eastern time, Tuesday, Oct. 19: 3-6 p.m. eastern time and Wednesday, Oct. 20: 3-6 p.m. eastern time. The nightly encore broadcast schedule will be determined closer to the tournament.
The University of South Carolina Women and the Florida State University Men, both ranked fourth in men's and women's college golf according to the most-recent Golfstat rankings, lead the field of 12 teams invited to play.
In addition to the 12 schools competing for the Jackson T. Stephens Cup team titles, 12 individual men and women collegiate players representing PGA Works, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and the United States Service Academies will also compete. Katsenes will represent the United States Military Academy and will compete in the stroke play portion of the tournament.
Katsenes enters his final season at West Point and contributed to the Black Knights' 2019 Patriot League Championship and also three wins over Navy during his career.
The golf team tees off for the first time this season at the Gene Miranda Invitational at Air Force, with the three-day tournament starting on Sept. 10 in Colorado.
