July 28, 2021 | Football
WEST POINT, N.Y. - Army West Point football's Zach Harding has been named to the Ray Guy Award watch list. The list, announced today by the Augusta Sports Council, included 51 of college football's top punters.
The rising senior was also named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-Independent First Team last month and was on the Ray Guy Watch List last season. Harding was a key piece in the Army special teams unit, consistently pinning opponents deep in their own territory with his accurate leg. The Missouri native landed 17 of his 41 punts inside the opponents 20-yard line and had 12 punts of over 50 yards on the season. His 43.3 average punt yards was good for 37th in the NCAA a season ago. Harding has appeared in 20 career games and has a 44.9 yards per punt for the Black Knights.
The winner of the 2021 Ray Guy Award will be announced at the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on Dec. 9.Â
