Schupler, Hudgins Earn Patriot League Weekly Awards

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Marcus Hudgins and Wyatt Schupler took home Patriot League men's lacrosse weekly awards after Army's victory over Loyola on the road Saturday in Baltimore.
Hudgins earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week for the second time, while Schupler garnered Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time in 2021.
Hudgins had a team high six ground balls and two caused turnovers in the win over Loyola. He led an Army defense that held Loyola scoreless for over 24 minutes in the second half and allowed only four goals in three quarters vs. the Greyhounds. The six ground balls were a season high and his assignment was the Greyhounds' Aidan Olmstead and he was held scoreless until the final 10 minutes of the game when Army had a commanding 11-4 lead.
Schupler finished with 16 saves and had nine saves in the first half. He helped Army hold Loyola scoreless for over 24 minutes and allowed Army to build up an 11-4 lead in the fourth quarter. Held the Greyhounds to four goals for the first three quarters. He has tallied double digit saves in six of seven games in 2021.
The Black Knights are back in action Saturday as Army hosts Boston University for their second matchup of the season. Faceoff is set for 2 pm on ESPN+ streaming services.
