HAMILTON, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's soccer team dropped an overtime heartbreaker to Colgate, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon at Beyer-Small '76 Field.

The Black Knights (4-0, 0-2 Patriot League) dominated in all facets of the game, but were unable to finish on the offensive end. The Black Knights led Colgate (1-3, 1-3 Patriot League) in shots, 11-6, shots-on-goal, 5-3 and corner kicks, 5-3.

"Today we competed and won so many moments during those 92 minutes and one moment got away from us," explained head coach Russell Payne. "Overall, we had more shots, corners, possession, you name it, and I am so proud of the commitment the boys showed today."

The Raiders broke through one minute and one second (91:01) into the first overtime period. Aidan Davock delivered a one-touch finish into the left corner off a bouncing pass from Simon Hall to hand the Black Knights a 1-0 loss, their second loss by a one-goal margin this season.

"On their goal we got to the first ball, didn't secure the second and they pounced on it and with the third created a 1v1. So, we know we had our chance on that play for the clearance," said Payne.

Oscar Pereira led the team with four shots on the day, with four others tallying at least one shot.

Army goalkeeper Jacob Suppiah took the loss to fall to 2-2 on the year. Colgate keeper Andrew Cook earned the win.

"We will keep believing in who we are and how we play and we will fight harder for the next one," said Payne.

Oscar Pereira led the team with four shots on the day (one on goal).
Nick Adkinson, Bradley Schweickert, Kim Coleman and Jake Burgess also each had one shot on the day.
Goalkeeper Jacob Suppiah made two saves on the day, compared with five for Colgate's keeper, Andrew Cooke.
