Nichtern and Schupler Named Back to Back Patriot League Players of the Week

WEST POINT, N.Y. - After a 13 goal performance against St. Joe's on Saturday, the Army West Point men's lacrosse team tabbed two Patriot League Weekly honors on Monday.
For the second straight weekend in a row, Brendan Nichtern tallied four goals and provided an assist on three scores for seven points and a .667 shot on goal percentage to secure him his second Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award. The junior captain currently leads the team in both offensive categories through three games with a total 10 goals and nine assists. Nichtern is tied for 20th nationally in goals per game (3.33), ninth in assists per game (3) and seventh in points per game (6.33).
Wyatt Schupler was also selected as the Patriot League Goalkeeper of the Week for the second straight week after earning his second win of the season with 10 saves and a .714 save percentage in 56 minutes of action in the 13-5 victory over St. Joe's. Through three games, the junior goalie ranks 11th in goals-against average at 9.88 and 12th in save percentage (.540) in the country.
The Black Knights are back in action this weekend as they open up conference play at Boston University at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 6.
