Golf Sits 8th After Two Rounds of Hoakalei Invite

Ewa Gentry, Hawai'I - The Army West Point golf team played the first two rounds of the Hoakalei Country Club Invitational on Monday and is currently in eighth place.
The Black Knights finished the 36 holes on Monday with a time score of 591 (+15). Louisiana has the overall lead after the first day and is currently 9-under as a team.

- Dragon Theam started well out of the gate with a 1-under 71 in the opening round.
- Highlighting his round was an eagle on the par four 15th and then also added three birdies on the scorecard.
- He had an up-and-down round two card with five birdies and five bogeys with a 2-over 74. Theam birdied three of his final four holes to get three shots back at the end of his round.
- John Heckel Jr. posted a pair of rounds at 1-over par to start his tournament.
- In round one, he was 2-under on the back nine with four birdies.
- Heckel joined Theam with an eagle on the day as he eagled the par-5 13th hole.
- Team captain Tom Katsenes is in a tie for 40th through the two rounds at 6-over and had a good second round at 2-over par.
