HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first 10 minutes of action, Sullivan and Raymond each had found the back of the net to give Army an early 2-0 advantage. Siena got on the board with 11:48 left in the half and the goal sparked a 4-0 run for the Saints that lasted just over four minutes.
- Orlando scored to end the scoring drought for the Black Knights, but Siena countered with a pair of goals to extend the lead to three, 6-3. With less than a minute remaining in the half, Sullivan was fouled and scored on a free position. Dworschak won the ensuing draw and the ball found its way into Stewart's stick before the senior midfielder sent a shot into the back of the net to trim the deficit to one, 6-5.
- Siena scored less than two minutes into the second stanza, but Army won the next eight draws and put in eight unanswered goals to go ahead by six, 13-7. Stewart was responsible for four of the eight goals which included a natural hat trick with back-to-back-to-back scores from 16:09-14:25.
- The Saints used a 3-1 run to pull within four, 14-10, with 3:06 left to play, however, that would be as close as they got. Franzoni and Orlando both scored for Army in the closing minutes to ensure the 16-10 home win for the Cadets.
