Win by Woodman Secures Men's Tennis 4-1 Win Over NJIT

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army men's tennis moved back to a winning record Saturday morning in a strong 4-1 win over NJIT. The Black Knights improve to 7-6 on the season with two more contests ahead tomorrow. The team will host Fairfield and Monmouth tomorrow for a double header at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Army 4, NJIT 1
Coming off of two tough losses to No. 1 USC and Air Force last weekend, the Black Knights entered Saturday's match eager to turn the tide. Diego Huttepain and Nathan Jose set the tone for the morning with a quick 6-0 win over Josh Smith and Tin Dizdarevic. Myles Conlin and A.J. Woodman followed suit with a 6-3 win in the No. 1 bout, nailing a team doubles win to put the Black Knights up 1-0.
Huttepain then started singles play with another win, passing Abdullah Fouad 7-6 and 6-2 to give the Black Knights the edge. Alejandro Quiros then opened up the gap with a 6-4, 6-3 win in the No. 6 bout, moving the score to 3-1 Army. Woodman brought it home for the Black Knight on three, clinching a 4-1 win in a three-set match with Josh Smith.
