Army Rises in National Polls

WEST POINT, N.Y. -- After taking down No. 18 UMass, 17-4, the Army West Point men's lacrosse team jumped up to No. 13 in the USILA Coaches Poll and No. 14 in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll.
The Black Knights bumped up from 15th last week in both polls after topping the nationally ranked Minutemen by 13 goals.
Wyatt Schupler made his collegiate debut in net for the Black Knights allowing just four goals and shutting out UMass in three of the four quarters. The Black Knights also held the Minutemen to 0-for-5 on man-up opportunities.
Brendan Nichtern paced Army's explosive offense with four goals and three assists. He was one of five players with multiple points in the game. Two of his seven points came on man-up scores.
The Black Knights host NJIT on Monday afternoon before taking on No. 19/20 Rutgers on Saturday at Michie Stadium.
