Four Cadets Earn Weekly League Honors

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – After picking up three home wins on Saturday at Crandall Pool, Serica Hallstead, Mandolin Nguyen, Daniel Alaimo and Evan Zhang all received Patriot League weekly honors.
Hallstead was tabbed the league's female diver of the week. The Canandaigua, N.Y., native showed out over the weekend in a quad meet against American, George Mason and Old Dominion after winning on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards. On the 1-meter, she posted a score of 266.32 before compiling a score of 280.05 on the 3-meter.
Nguyen was Army's top individual performer after placing second in the 100 back (57.99) and picking up a pair of first-place finishes in the 200 breast (2:18.55) and 200 IM (2:06.05). The freshman additionally swam the second leg of the first-place 200 medley relay squad that finished with a time of 1:44.24.
Alaimo finished as the best diver on the men's side for the Black Knights after he took second on both boards. On the 3-meter, he totaled a score of 305.25 before going on to tally a total of 291.90 on the 1-meter.
Zhang swam his way to two first-place showings over the weekend. The sophomore won the 100 breast after he touched the wall at 55.28. He then went on to claim the top spot in the 200 IM at 1:53.42. The Flushing, N.Y., native also swam the second leg of the first-place 200 medley relay team that finished first at 1:31.63.
The Black Knights return to action on Saturday to host Boston U. for a 1 p.m. Patriot League dual at Crandall Pool.
