- The Crusaders cut the lead in half in the fourth after three-straight hits, including an RBI-double by Alex Volpi.
- The home side then tacked on three additional runs in the fifth following four hits. Volpi again came up with the big hit for Holy Cross after he drilled a two-RBI double to left field.
- The Black Knights were never able to recover.

On the ensuing play Martin singled up the middle to score Giachin from third and hand the Black Knights a 2-1 advantage.
- The home side would not go away though, scoring one run in the seventh and eighth to take a 3-2 edge. Both of those runs were unearned after errors by Army.
- The Cadets rallied in the ninth to tie the game at 3-3 after Hurtubise came through with a two-out, RBI-single to left field to score pinch runner Carter Macias.
