Surdick Receives Defensive Player of the Week Nod

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Senior captain Johnny Surdick of the Army West Point men's lacrosse team has been named the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week.

This is Surdick's second weekly honor this season.

Surdick, who hails from Odenton, Md., led the Black Knights' defense with a game-high three caused turnovers and five ground balls.

With his five ground ball pickups, Surdick eclipsed 150-career ground balls. On Saturday, Army caused 10 turnovers compared to Colgate's four, while Army held Colgate to eight goals which ties the second-lowest mark this season.

The senior ranks second in the Patriot League in caused turnovers per game (2.30) and 16th nationally.

The Black Knights travel to Bucknell on Saturday for a 1 p.m. Patriot League matchup.
