Barretto Joins Tewaaraton Award Watch List

NEW YORK – Senior goalie AJ Barretto of the Army West Point men's lacrosse team was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List, announced by the committee on Thursday.
Barretto makes his first appearance on the list which is made up of the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse. Teammate Johnny Surdick is also on the watch list.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States. The selection committees are made up of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by The Tewaaraton Foundation.

This season, Barretto has been on fire in net backing the best scoring defense in the country at 7.75. Barretto's .639 save percentage is the second best in college lacrosse through week six.
The Darlington, Md., native's goals against average is the best in thePatriot League and second nationally at 7.70.
Barretto has set and rest his career-high in saves three times this season. The latest was 19 coming against Holy Cross, including a kick save on the Crusaders' attempt on a game-winner.
The Black Knights host Patriot League foe Colgate this Saturday at noon.
