Black Knights Fall to Bentley Friday Night

WEST POINT, N.Y. – With the game scoreless after the first 40 minutes of play, Bentley netted two goals in the third period to take Friday night's contest from the Army West Point hockey team 2-1.

The Black Knights scored with three minutes to go and pulled the goalie at the 1:30 mark, but the Falcons skated away with the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The score remained knotted at 0-0 throughout the first two periods.
- Bentley broke the trend with a goal four minutes into the third frame.
- The Falcons netted their second of the contest with a power play effort four minutes later.
- Army kept things tight with a score at the 3:02 mark to bring the score to 2-1.
- Daniel Haider shot wide from the left circle missing the cage, but Brendan Soucie picked up the puck and swung it to the slot where Mason Krueger connected for the goal.
- The Black Knights went up 6-on-5 for the final 1:30 in the game but could not get one past Aidan Pelino.
ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- The Black Knights outshot the Falcons 34-19.
- Krueger netted goal six of the year for his 12th point.
- The sophomore has tallied eight career goals and 17 points.
- Soucie notched assist number six this season which brought him to 14 points.
- He now boasts 20 career helpers and 50 points.
- Haider is second among freshman in assists with five and has nine points.
- Matt Penta made 17 stops tonight.Â
