Halbrook Sets Mile Mark At Armory Last Chance

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Days after winning the Women's Track Athlete of the Meet at the Patriot League Championship, Abby Halbrook set the Army West Point program record in the mile at the Armory Last Chance on Friday.Â
Halbrook and fellow senior co-captain Cassie Mundekis represented the Black Knights at the New York City event, with both finishing second in their respective races.Â
Halbrook's 4:46.38 mark in the women's mile broke her own program record of 4:47.66 from the Penn State National Open earlier this season. Mundekis was also strong at the meet, posting a 2:10.25 in the women's 800m.Â
Senior co-captain Jeff Giannettino of the Army men's track and field team also competed at the event, placing second in the high jump with a 2.00m.Â
