Black Knights Geared for Non-Conference Finale

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point softball team will play in its final non-conference series of the 2018 season when the Black Knights square off against Hartford on Wednesday in a doubleheader slated for 2:30 p.m. at the Hartford Softball Field.

Since 1996, the Black Knights and Hawks have battled it out 10 times, with Army holding a 6-4 all-time series edge. The Cadets have claimed the last four meetings between the two squads and are 2-0 all-time in West Hartford, Conn.

ARMY (22-25, 7-8 PATRIOT LEAGUE)

The Black Knights took one of three games from Patriot League foe Lehigh this past weekend.
Army currently sits one game ahead of Colgate for the fourth spot in the league standings.
The Cadets totaled six extra-base hits against the Mountain Hawks, including a two-run blast by Carrie Reilly in the second game of the series.
Courtney Springman tossed a pair of complete games over the weekend and continues to lead the league in ERA (1.83) and opponent's batting average (.211).

HARTFORD (9-28, 0-15 AMERICA EAST)

The Hawks have dropped seven straight contests and have struggled at home, playing to a 1-15 mark in West Hartford, Conn.
Danielle Rocheleau has been one of Hartford's most productive batters, compiling a .327 average with 19 RBIs and six homers.
In the circle, Isabella Gerone's 6.71 ERA ranks first on the team and she has struck out 57 batters in 107.1 innings of work.
Hartford has given up double-digit runs in three of its last four outings.
