ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point women's swimming and diving team used a strong third day of competition to pass Lehigh and retake the second-place position at the Patriot League Championships.
Through 26 events, Navy has maintained its first-place spot over the pack with 602.5 points. Army moved to second with 387 points, grabbing a slight lead over Lehigh (357). Bucknell (260) and Boston U. (255) round out the top five, while Loyola (188.5), Colgate (130), American (101), Holy Cross (86) and Lafayette (75) trail.

ARMY NOTABLES
- After Sabrina Mortell took the top spot in the 400 IM at 4:24.35 in the B-Final, Meaghan McGovern (4:25.64) and Sidney Evans (4:27.32) placed seventh and eighth, respectively in the A-Final.
- Whitney Chang won the 100 fly, touching the wall at 53.59.
- Kara Wineinger placed third in the 100 breast with a time of 1:02.87, with Margaret Ireland (1:04.24) and Rebecca Morel (1:04.59) finishing in seventh and eighth, respectively. Those swims came right after Jess Ambrose won the B-Final at 1:04.66.
- In the 100 back, Cecelia Croman put together a time of 54.29 to win the event. Bailey Smith tied for fourth at 55.05, while Kim Sembrano placed eighth with her time of 56.64.
- The group of Bailey Smith, Madison Berg, Nicole Parry and Jenna Forrester placed third in the 200 relay with a time of 1:32.79.
WENDER'S WORDS
- "I'm very pleased with our fight and toughness today," head coach Mickey Wender said. "Our morning performances have been key. We've improved a lot as we've worked through the meet. It was a great job up and down the lineup. Yesterday we were at 62 percent and today we hit 88 percent. Whitney's win in the 100 fly was inspiring. We like our current position and we are going to be looking to close out the meet on a high note."
