BOSTON – With five top-three finishes, the Army West Point men's swimming and diving team held on to place second overall at the three-day Terrier Invitational.
Boston College finished ahead of the Black Knights in first with 1116.5 points, while Army was trailed by Boston U. (712), UMass (511.5) and Bridgeport (400.5)

"I'm very proud of the way things finished up for our team today," head coach Mickey Wender said. "The best part of the weekend was that we stayed true to our goals. We're focused on being at our best in 13 days. This has been a great semester in terms of consistency and I wouldn't change a thing. We're learning and getting better everyday."

ARMY NOTABLES
- Army started strong and got a first-place finish in the 1650 free once Tom Ottman swam to a time of 15:26.04, finishing over 12 seconds faster than the second-place swimmer. Ryan Lewis added an eighth-place showing in the event at 16:06.09, while Kevin Lin scored in ninth at 16:07.74. Mark Kim chipped in with two points after placing 15th at 16:15.71.
- Jay Yang won the B-Final of the 200 back with his time of 1:51.44, while Brian McKenrick (1:52.47) and Tyler Kim (1:53.14) followed.
- The Black Knights picked up a bevy of points in the 100 free as Nathan Hein led the pack with a first-place time of 45.79. Billy Webber rounded out the top eight at 46.73. Kevin Doo (46.07), Hogan Harper (46.11) and Josh Zock (46.42) scored as well by taking the top-three spots in the B-Final.
- Evan Zhang's time of 2:00.10 in the 200 breast earned him a third-place finish, while Ty Dang came in fifth at 2:03.53. Lawrence Quintana (2:05.89) and Andrew Blomquist (2:09.92) scored for Army in the B-Final.
- In the 200 fly, it was Johnny Ellery leading the way for the Cadets after he posted a second-place time of 1:48.99. Lin took third in the B-Final at 1:54.84.
- The group of Nathan Hein, Webber, Zock and Harper came in second in the 400 free relay after finishing with a time of 3:03.59.
