BOSTON – In a battle for positioning in the Patriot League standings, it was Boston U. ultimately defeating the Army West Point men's soccer team, 1-0, on Wednesday night at Nickerson Field.

The Terriers (4-9-3, 3-3-1 Patriot League) placed a shot into the back of the net in the opening 15 minutes and the Black Knights (6-8-1, 3-4 Patriot League) were unable to respond.

Boston U. held a slight edge in shots (7-6) and corners (4-3).

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

Tonight's contest marked the 10th all-time meeting between the Black Knights and Terriers.
It was Army's seventh game this season that was decided by one score.
The Cadets placed four of their six shots on the Boston U. goal.
Keenan O'Shea and Eric Whiteman led the team with two shots apiece.
Both of O'Shea's shots were put on goal.
Justin Stoll made two saves opposite the Terriers.

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the 12th minute, Kari Petursson dribbled the ball from the right end of the Army box to the left before turning and firing a shot past a diving Stoll for the only score of the game from either side.
