HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless 30 minutes of action to start the game, Yale broke through in the 31st minute. From the right side of the field, Nicky Downs played a ball to the top of the box where Mark Winhoffer received it before turning and firing a shot into the back of the net to put the Bulldogs up 1-0.
- It remained a one-score game in favor of Yale until the 59th minute. Takaki dribbled through a crowd of Yale defenders before sending a through ball to O'Shea, who was patiently waiting, and he flicked a shot over the sliding goalkeeper for the equalizer.
- Nearly a full 30 minutes passed and the two sides were still deadlocked at 1-1. However, in the 89th minute, John Leisman played a ball down the right side of the field to Lucas Kirby and he sent a cross into the box, setting up Aldo Quevedo for the game-winning goal.
