Army Opens Dual Slate Versus Cornell, Missouri

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's tennis team opens its dual season this weekend in Ithaca, N.Y., against Cornell and Missouri.
The Black Knights are slated to face the Big Red on Saturday at 1 p.m. before squaring off with the Tigers on Sunday at 9 a.m.
ARMY (0-0, 0-0 Patriot League)
• The Black Knights will be competing in their first duals of the season.
• Hannah Boubel sports a team-best 17-3 record in singles.
• Five cadet-athletes have double-digit singles wins thus far: Boubel, Ana Joyner (12), Sasha Inchauste (11), Gloria Son (10) and Melanie Allen (10).
• The doubles team of Boubel and Inchauste have been the best doubles team for Army with a mark of 11-3.
CORNELL (0-0, 0-0 Ivy League)
• The Big Red are coming off a championship season in which they split the Ivy League title with Dartmouth and Harvard.
• It was the program's first-ever league championship.
• Priyanka Shah owns a team-best 9-5 singles record and advanced to the round of 16 of the ITA Regionals in the fall.
• Ananya Dua's 5-3 doubles record is the best on the team, while Mariko Iinuma and Shah hold Cornell's best record as a duo at 4-4.
MISSOURI (2-0, 0-0 SEC)
• This will be Army's second all-time meeting with Missouri and first since 2007 when the Tigers claimed a 6-1 victory.
• The Tigers opened their spring slate last weekend by picking up a pair of wins over Southeast Missouri, 5-0, and Central Arkansas, 6-1.
• Mackenzy Middlebrooks leads the team with an 8-8 record and is on an eight-match winning streak.
• Serena Nash is 6-6 on the year and is 2-0 at the top singles position.
• Nash and Clare Raley sport a team-best 4-2 mark in doubles play.
