WEST POINT, N.Y. – After competing at the West Point Open last weekend, the Army West Point gymnastics team will test its talents at Penn State for its first dual of the year.

- The Army gymnastics team finished third at the 27th annual West Point Open last weekend with 380.350 points.
- Elliot Herman led the Black Knights with a second-place finish on the still rings (13.350). Â
- Taka Giese had a strong collegiate debut and qualified for the finals of the still rings as well.
- Ryan Wilson started the year with a 14.150 on vault with a first-place ranking after the qualifying round.
- Army and Penn State square off in a dual this Saturday at 4 p.m.
PENN STATE
- Penn State is coming off its fifth straight victory at the West Point open and 20th overall with a 406.850 score.
- The Nittany Lions earned the top score on five-of-six events last weekend and swept in individual titles on Friday night.
- Freshman Brennan Pantazis stood atop the podium for the floor exercise (14.250) and parallel bars (13.900).
- Michael Burns captured his third-straight high bar title at the West Point Open with a score of 13.550.
