Army Welcomes Marist for Tuesday Night Showdown

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After three games on the road, the Army West Point volleyball team returns to Gillis Tuesday night for a Hudson Valley rival match against Marist. The match is set to begin at 7 p.m.

ARMY (3-3, 0-0 Patriot League)
- Army and Marist will face off Tuesday night for the 39th time in program history. The series began in 1982 and the Black Knights lead 34-4.
- Last year the Cadets won in three straight sets against the Red Foxes in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Allie Strong led Army offensively with 29 kills and nine digs, while Vanessa Wesley (21) and Amber Clay (20) and Sydney Morriss (14) each notched double-digit kills. Haven Bethune controlled the Black Knights' offense with 33 assists and recorded two kills.
- This season Army has a record of 3-3 with its wins coming over St. Francis Brooklyn, Hartford and The Citadel. All of the Cadets' wins came in three sets.
- The Black Knights' point leaders are currently Carolyn Bockrath (48.0), Jaden Pickell (38.5), Clay (32.5) and Wesley (32.0).
- Nikki Lum and Bethune have split time in the setter position and have posted 92 and 60 assists, respectively.

MARIST (3-2, 0-0 MAAC)
- The Red Foxes enter the match with a 3-2 record with wins over Lehigh (3-1), Coppin State (3-0) and Binghamton (3-2).
- Kelsey Ediger leads Marist with 66.0 points this season, while Nikki DeSerpa (61.5) and Megan Fergus (50.0) are also key factors to the team's offense.
- Taylor van der Biezen dishes out 9.10 assists per set on average and adds 0.25 service aces per set.
- Defensively, the Red Foxes are led by Korona Ashton who posts 1.25 blocks per set and Megan Fergus with 1.13 on average.
