ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND MATCH NOTES
- The Black Knights are now riding a three match winning streak, all which have been three set decisions.
- Rachel Gearon led the Cadets with nine kills and a .375 hitting percentage.
- Amber Clay posted eight kills, seven digs and two aces.
- Haven Bethune continued to control Army's offense and had 19 assists, while Nikki Lum aided with 10 helpers.
- Ana Oglivie also added seven digs on the match.
- The Black Knights led the Bison in kills (38-27), assists (33-25) and hitting percentage (.208-.019).
HOW IT HAPPENED SET ONE (25-19 Army)
- The Black Knights trailed Bucknell 15-13 in the first set, but a 7-0 run helped push them to the 20-point mark first.
- Army also claimed the last five of six points to clinch the set.
- Pickell notched four kills in the first set, while Allie Strong added three.
HOW IT HAPPENED SET TWO (25-23 Army)
- The second set featured much back-and-forth action with five tie scores and three lead changes.
- Clay stepped it up in the middle frame with four kills and a solo block.
- The two squads were tied at 18-all before Army started chipping its way to the 25th and clinching point.
HOW IT HAPPENED SET THREE (25-14 Army)
- Although the score does not reflect it, there were six tie scores in the set.
- Clay and Gearon posted four kills apiece and Bethune boasted six assists.
- The Black Knights hit their best in the third set at .259.
