Women’s Tennis Drops NIT Quarterfinal to North Alabama

ROME, Ga. – Army West Point women's tennis was playing its first match beyond the Patriot League Championships since 2022, but the Black Knights took a 4-0 defeat to the North Alabama Lions on Tuesday, in the UTR Sports NIT Championships quarterfinals.

Playing at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga., Vennmukiil Mathivanan and Ylan Duong won their match on doubles court No. 3, but Army would take a tiebreaker loss in the decisive No. 2 doubles match to drop the doubles point.

Army went 0-3 in completed singles matches, with Stacey Samonte taking the first set of her unfinished match on court No. 5, 6-0.

The Black Knights finish the 2025-26 season with a 22-8 record.
