#12/14 Black Knights Set for Patriot League Semis

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The No. 12/14 Army West Point men's lacrosse team is making its 13th straight appearance in the Patriot League Semifinals as the Black Knights play No. 18/19 Boston University on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Ridley Athletic Complex.
With a win, Army secures a spot in the Patriot League Championship for the third consecutive year. It's Friday night lights against Boston University with faceoff live on CBS Sports Network and on the radio in the Hudson Valley on 1260 WBNR and 1420 WLNA.

THE OPENING FACEOFF
• Army hopes to right the ship in the postseason after dropping its final two Patriot League regular-season contests, but Army did claim a share of the regular-season title at 6-2 in league play.
• The Black Knights were held to six goals for the second game in a row in a 14-6 loss to Loyola last Friday night, which resulted in the Greyhounds hosting the championship weekend.
• Army is 2-0 in its previous two Patriot League Semifinal matchups, which were both against Navy on its home turf.
• Army looks to become only the fifth team in program history to reach 11 wins in a season.
• The Terriers enter Friday's game after a dominating performance in the rain at home against Lehigh.
• They used a 7-1 run in the second half to earn their first-ever postseason victory with a 10-4 win.

ANOTHER MILESTONE DOWN, ONE TO FOLLOW
• Senior Cole Johnson became the 11th player in academy history to reach 100 goals in a career with a second-quarter tally at Bucknell on April 1.
• Johnson had four points on two goals and two assists against the Bison and is 10th all-time in career points with 179.
• The Bellevue, Wash., native leads the team in all offensive categories.
• He is one score outside the career top 10 in goals, assists and points, to become only the fourth player in program history to do so. The others are Steve Heller '93, John Walker '06 and John Glesener '15.
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
• Boston University enters the semifinals after its first postseason victory in team history with a 10-4 win over Lehigh in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.
• The Terriers are led by a trio of scorers in Cal Dearth, Jack Wilson and James Burr.
• Dearth was the lone offensive player on the All-Patriot League First Team, while Wilson earned second team honors.
• Burr was left off the postseason all-league teams, but came through in a big way on Tuesday with a career high five points on four goals and an assist.
• Dearth also had five points in the win with a hat trick, along with two helpers. Dearth leads the team with 52 points on 35 goals and 17 assists.
• In goal, Christian Carson-Banister is at the top of his game after earning Patriot League Goalie of the Year. He has a 7.96 goals against average and a .600 save percentage.
• Carson-Banister came up huge for the Terriers in the loss at West Point earlier this year with 16 stops, which was one off his season high.
SERIES HISTORY
• This will be the fifth all-time meeting between Army and Boston University and the first in postseason.
• Army has a 4-0 advantage over the Terriers in the series since the first meeting in 2014 when Boston University joined the Patriot League.
• The two teams have played a pair of one-goal games in the history of the matchup and the Black Knights have won some lopsided victories as well.
• This is also the first neutral site game in the series history.
