Army Falls to Navy in the Star Match

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Post men's tennis team suffered their first league loss, 4-1, in the Army-Navy Star Match as part of the Star Series presented by USAA on Saturday.

The Black Knights fall to 18-9 overall and 6-1 in conference play after the match. The Midshipmen improve to 20-17 and 4-1, respectively.

Michael Nguyen and Grant Riechmann were the lone Cadets to get a victory in the doubles round. Nguyen later went on to capture the lone point for Army at the No. 1 singles slot in a 6-1, 6-4 straight set victory.

Army will start its post season run on April 20th. The Patriot League Championships will be held in Annapolis Md., and runs as a four-day tournament.
