Army Prepares for Trip to Rhode Island

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's tennis team takes its nine-match winning streak to Rhode Island on Tuesday for its final non-league contest of the season.
The match is slated to begin at 3 p.m.
ARMY (16-5, 4-0 Patriot League)
• Army is 3-0 in the all-time series against Rhode Island, dating back to 2010.
• Last time out, the Black Knights captured the Gold Star against service-academy rival Navy with a 5-2 on Saturday.
• Kirby Einck and Melanie Allen have been Army's top contributors in singles action with 18 and 15 wins, respectively.
• Allen has been the primary starter at No. 1 singles, while Einck has spent the majority of the season in the second spot.
• In doubles, the duo of Allyson Hayley and Genevieve McCormick sport a team-best 9-3 record.
RHODE ISLAND (5-14, 0-3 A-10)
• Rhode Island enters the contest on a three-match losing skid.
• Those losses came against Dayton (5-2), Cincinnati (6-1) and Fordham (4-3).
• Rachel Smilansky is first on the team with seven singles wins.
• Taylor Holden leads the Rams in top-flight victories in singles play with three.
• Mihaela Codreanu and Tiara Higuchi have been Rhode Island's most productive doubles team, notching four victories in the second flight.
