Army-Navy Rivalry Enters Postseason

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army-Navy rivalry takes on a postseason feel on Friday night as the two service academies faceoff in the Patriot League semifinals at 7:30 p.m. at Bucknell.
The game is going to be live on the Patriot League Network as well as 1260 AM WBNR in the Hudson Valley.

• For the first time since 2001, the Army-Navy women's basketball rivalry hits the postseason as the two teams face off in the Patriot League Tournament on Friday night in the semifinals at Bucknell.
• Each team had a little bit of a scare in the quarterfinal round as both were in a one-point game going into the fourth quarter, but was able to pull out the victories.
• Sophomore Madison Hovren led the Black Knights against Colgate in the quarterfinals with 23 points and seven rebounds. The First Team All-Patriot League selection has averaged a double-double this year and has 15 on the year overall.
• Junior Aliyah Murray performed extremely well with her seventh double-double of the year with 13 points and 11 boards. She was given the defensive player of the year award, prior to recording a career best three blocks in the win.

• The Black Knights enter the Patriot League semifinals for the fourth straight season after their 83-78 victory over Colgate on Monday night.
• Army is looking to reach the championship game for the second straight season and the third time in the last four seasons.
• The overall series with Navy at 34-34, and they have faced one another five times in the postseason with the Mids leading at 3-2. The last meeting in postseason was a 73-61 win for the Black Knights in 2001 in Annapolis.
• In the last meeting on Feb. 18, Murray tallied a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, but Army fell 67-62 in the Star match in Annapolis. Hovren was held in check with a season-low seven points and nine rebounds.

• The scoring was tough to come by with Justice Swett as the lone player in double figures with 11, but she added a double-double with 14 rebounds.
• Sarita Condie is the biggest threat for the Mids with an average of 13.2 points per game, while Taylor Dunham has averaged 10.2 per contest.
