"We got lucky with the weather today and we accomplished what we need to accomplish. Army Navy is next weekend so the Penn Challenge today, in the scheme of things, is important as a stimulus. We competed lightly today and did not double too many guys. Having said that we really did have some nice performances."
"We started off the meet with multiple wins and the wins came against some good people and good teams. The 4x100 meter relay team in now undefeated in three consecutive weeks of running. Keagan Smith and Trevor Touchton went one, two in the 1500 meter run and their times are quite good for this early in the season. Lee Bares put together his best vault day of the year in winning at 5.20 meters. I was really impressed with him. He has looked good in practice so I would expect him to continue to improve as we go forward. Then, Jacob Fong ran a nice opener in the steeplechase. He has really started to master the technique of the event and looks like he is ready to really drop some time. We had some other nice marks from Nick Causey in the 800-meter and Ben Sims in the 100-meter. In the end, we finished in second in the team scoring. It was a good day for us. Now we can get down to the business of the star meet."
UP NEXT: The Cadets will head to Annapolis for the Army-Navy Star meet in part of the Star Series presented by USAA next Saturday at 12 p.m.
