Brinson Gains All-Academic Honors

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Sophomore Kenneth Brinson was honored Thursday after being voted to the men's indoor track and field Academic All-Patriot League Team.
Brinson was one of 11 athletes throughout the league who received this accolade.

Brinson is ranked first in his class and at the academy. The Kennesaw, Ga., native has a 4.048 cumulative while studying Chemical Engineering.

In the upset win over Navy, Brinson set a new team and league season-best with a toss of 18.76 meters in the weight throw. During the indoor season, he increased Army's and the Patriot League season best marks with a throw of 19.17 meters en route to capturing gold.

To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award and the Academic All-Patriot League Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key player in his/her sport. Freshmen or students in their first academic year at their school are not eligible for the honor.

The Corvias Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year for each individual sport comprises the pool of nominees for the Corvias Patriot League Male and Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards given out over the summer. One male and one female are selected for this honor.
