Black Knights Kick off Spring Break Trip at Mercer

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's lacrosse team begins its trip to Georgia for Spring Break with a Sunday afternoon game at Mercer. The opening draw is set to start at 1 p.m.

SCOUTING ARMY
- This will be the second meeting between Army and UMass Lowell. The two squads faced each other last season with the Black Knights picking up the 10-8 victory.
- Army is now 4-2 this season with wins over Marist (13-12), Manhattan (11-6), Central Connecticut State (13-11) and Quinnipiac (9-8 2OT).
- Army is led offensively by attacker Rachel Hornick, who ranks third in the Patriot League with 3.14 goals per game. Erin Jollota is tied for second in the league in assists per game at 2.00.
- On the draw, Amy Johnston and Samantha Stewart have been standouts with 21 and 12 draws apiece. Emma Roerty is also up there with 11, respectively.
- In net, Maddie Burns has picked up the four wins as a freshman and has amassed 40 saves for a .426 saves percentage. She also leads the Black Knights in ground balls with 22.
SCOUTING MERCER
- The Bears have also earned four wins this season and reside at 4-1 on the year. They are riding a three-game winning streak after defeating Gardner-Webb (23-7), Butler (19-4) and Radford (18-12).
- Mercer is powered by junior midfielder Lindsey Zeltwanger who has posted 38 points on an even 19 goals and 19 assists.
- Kate Leone and Meghan Segreti have both scored 16 goals this season and have added nine and eight assists, respectively.
- Catie Snee (16), Haleigh Wurzel (15) and Kelly Hagerty (14) have all contributed on the defensive side of the ball and lead the team in ground balls.
- Wurzel has picked up starts in all five contests and boasts a .418 save percentage on 46 saves.
