Black Knights go Head-to-Head with Springfield

WEST POINT, N.Y. –After competing there just a week before, the Army West Point gymnastics team will return to Springfield on Sunday to take on the Pride head-to-head at 1 p.m.

SCOUTING ARMY
- The Black Knights are now 3-4 on the year with a win over Navy and two victories against Springfield under their belts.
- Last weekend, Army placed second in the tri-meet hosted by Springfield. The team's premier event was on the pommel horse where they outscored Navy 68.300-66.950.
- Leading the way was Andre Hufnagel who captured ECAC Specialist of the Week honors for his performance.
- The junior championed the event with a 14.500 to edge the next-best competitor by 0.450 points.
- In the all-around Nathan Goff was second (80.850) followed by Seth Cannon (75.700) as the only all-around competitors of the day.
- Leo Genders placed first on the high bar (13.950) and vault (14.450) to keep the Black Knights close in the meet.
SCOUTING SPRINGFIELD
- Last weekend, the Pride were led by Jannik Haas who was the Pride's top finisher on the parallel bars and the horizontal bar, and Chris Graff who was Springfield College's top scorer on the pommel horse and rings.
- On the parallel bars, Haas posted a 13.700 to finish second overall in the meet, while Mike Grimaldi and Graff scored matching marks of 12.750.
- Haas produced a 12.950 to lead the Pride on high bar, while Graff finished with a 12.300 and Joshua Dieker with a 12.150.
