Army Set to Host Trio of Matches

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's tennis team is set to host Stony Brook, Sacred Heart and Connecticut this weekend at the Lichtenberg Tennis Center.
The Black Knights welcome Stony Brook and Sacred Heart on Friday at 3 and 7 p.m., respectively. They then bring in UConn for a contest on Sunday at noon.
ARMY (2-2, 0-0 PL)
• The Black Knights are coming off a 2-1 weekend in which they defeated Binghamton and Rutgers.
• Army enters the upcoming matches with all-time series records of 11-4 against Stony Brook, 7-0 versus Sacred Heart and 17-2 opposite UConn.
• Spohomore Kirby Einck leads the Black Knights in singles wins with 10.
• Senior co-captain Allyson Hayley holds a team-best 11 dual victories, including a 2-0 mark in duals with sophomore Genevieve McCormick.
STONY BROOK (0-0, 0-0 AE)
• The Seawolves open their 2017 spring season on Friday.
• Last season, Elizabeth Tsvetkov led Stony Brook with 22 wins, playing primarily in the top singles flight where she went 7-3.
•Tsvetkov teamed up with Yana Nikolaeva to combine for a 19-8 doubles record in 2015-16.
SACRED HEART (0-1, 0-0 NEC)
• The Pioneers dropped their season-opener, 5-2, against Binghamton here at West Point on Dec. 3.
• Brianne Lauria came away with a 6-4, 6-1 win in the second singles flight, while Claudia Ruiz came from behind to win 4-6, 6-4 (10-7) in the fifth singles flight.
• Sophomore Olivia Podsiebierski leads all returners with a 12-9 record last season.
CONNECTICUT (3-2, 0-0 AAC)
• The Huskies opened the season with a 7-0 victory over Rhode Island before hitting the road for a Midwest stretch against Kansas State and UMKC.
• Yelyzaveta Pletnyeva leads UConn with a singles record of 11-3.
• Jacquelyn Fitz-Randolph and Gillian Perrotta have compiled a team-best 10-4 doubles mark.
