Black Knights Fall to Navy in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point women's swimming and diving team was defeated by Navy in the Star Meet, 223-77, on Thursday night at Lejeune Hall.

The Black Knights fell to 1-2 to head-to-head matchups this season, while the Midshipmen moved to 8-0.

ARMY NOTABLES

The Cadets scored well in the 50 free after taking second, third and fourth. Jenna Forrester led the way for Army at a PR time of 23.53 with Bailey Smith (23.58) and Nneka Pilgrim (23.68) right behind her.
Army picked up some points in the 100 breast once Kara Wineinger (1:02.73), Margaret Ireland (1:04.12) and Jess Ambrose (1:04.51) took the final three spots in the top-five. Wineinger's and Ireland's times were both new personal bests.
Marie Docken paced the Black Knights in the 200 fly at a PR time of 2:01.50, which was good for third.
Josephine Marsh placed third in the 200 back at 1:59.17.
On the boards, Serica Hallstead finished with the top score for the Black Knights, finishing second in the 1-meter (266.33) and 3-meter (276.08) dives.
Morel took second in the 200 breast after hitting the wall at 2:18.91 for a PR. Wineinger followed closely at 2:18.99, which was a PR as well.

"We got beat by a good Navy team tonight," head coach Mickey Wender said. "My hat goes off to the Navy swimmers, divers and coaches for their performance."
