Army to Compete at Northeast Regionals
November 09, 2017 | Women's Cross Country
West Point, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's cross country team heads to the Northeast Regional Championships this Friday. The meet will take place in Buffalo, N.Y., at 11 a.m.
Â
Coach's Corner:
"We haven't had a complete team race in a long time from our women's group," said head coach Mike Smith. "I think we are much better than what we ran at the conference meet where we were second. I would expect us to perform at least as well as we are ranked in our region. I think we are capable of much more than that if everyone shows up and performs at their ability level."
Â
"We've trained well enough to have a good competitive effort here; we are committed, focused, and I think it's time for us to have a complete race. So, if they put it together, I like our chances of performing better than we have in a long time. It's a young group and we are depending a lot on our youth. We will see if our talent level can out-perform our experience level."
