HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set featured much back-and-forth action as it was tied up 14 times and had five lead changes. Army reached the 20-point mark first with a kill from Strong, then an attacking error by the Big Green to go up 21-19.
- Dartmouth came back though and tied the score at 21-all before the Cadets were able to go on another two-point run off errors by their opponent.
- The set was re-tied at 23-all, but a dump by Bethune put the Black Knights up for set point before an attacking error by the Big Green secured the set for Army, 25-23.
- The Black Knights began set two on a 6-2 run and maintained their lead for a majority of the set. Dartmouth was able to tie things up at 8-8, but it sparked three-straight points for the Cadets.
- As the set continued, Army maintained a lead, but the Big Green tied things up at 20-20. Dartmouth then jumped ahead 23-21, but a kill by Victoria Reyer and an attacking error by the Big Green clinched the set for Army 25-23.
- After trailing 5-2 in the third set, the Cadets went on a 6-1 run to retake the lead at 8-6 fueled by kills from Strong and Wesley, and from an ace by Bryn.
- The set was tied three more times, but Army never gave up its lead and would essentially win the match.
- Army truly charged ahead in the end of the match and went on a commanding 6-1 run to win (25-17). The Cadets took advantage of four errors by Dartmouth and added an ace by Strong and a kill by Clay.
