Volleyball Opens Patriot League Play Tuesday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After a month of tournament play, the Army West Point volleyball team will begin Patriot League contests. The Black Knights travel to Holy Cross Tuesday evening for a mid-week matchup against the Crusaders at 7 p.m.

- The Cadets went 2-2 last week with 3-0 wins over both Marist and Delaware State. Army is 7-1 in matches that are decided in three sets.
- Sydney Morriss was named to the West Point Invitational All-Tournament Team this past weekend after leading the team with 44 kills last week to average 2.93 per set. She notched a career-high 17 kills in the team's five-set loss to Albany.
- Vanessa Wesley and Morriss are tops in the Patriot League in hitting percentage this season, both with a .353 average.
- Haven Bethune ranks third in the league in assists per set with 8.95. She has totaled 367 helpers her freshman campaign and has also added 22 kills and six service aces.
- Amber Clay leads Army in kills per set with 2.67 and 136 total. Wesley tops the team with 3.14 points per set and 46 blocks on the season. She is followed by Olivia Fairfield who has 45 blocks on the year.

HOLY CROSS
- The Crusaders enter the mid-week match with a 4-9 record. Mandy Sifferlen once again leads the league in kills per set with 5.07 which also ranks her seventh in the nation.
- Setter Lizzie Webb leads Holy Cross with 383 assists and 18 service aces. Webb is additionally third on the team with 116 digs and 18 blocks. Webb is currently first in the Patriot League in aces per set (0.41) and total service aces.
