Men’s Track and Field with Deep Field at ECAC’s

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point men's track and field heads to the ECAC/IC4A Championships at Princeton, N.J., with a large number of competitors. The Black Knights will bring 30 competitors to participate over the next three days.
HOW TO FOLLOW
"This meet is an opportunity for our younger people to test themselves against a higher level of competition and for our NCAA caliber athletes to position themselves for the regional meet in two weeks," said Army Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mike Smith.Sophomore Lee Bares is the top returning Cadet from last year's field to head to this event. Last year, Bares placed fourth in the Pole Vault with a 5.10 meter-best. He competes at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Senior Taylor Andrews returns to the event where he placed his fastest 110 hurdle time ever. Andrews ran 14.27 in the semifinals last year to claim a spot in the finals where he placed sixth (14.43). The Elburn, Ill., native is coming off a third-place performance at the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Andrews, along with junior Jack Monday and sophomore Ross Purrity, will begin competing on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
This is the last opportunity for competitors to qualify for the East Preliminary NCAA Championships in Jacksonville, Fla.
