Softball Takes on Holy Cross in Worcester

WEST POINT, N.Y. – After sweeping Quinnipiac 12-4 and 3-1 on Wednesday, the Army West Point softball team continues its myriad of road trips in Worcester, Mass., where the Black Knights will take on Holy Cross in an important Patriot League three-game series.

The Cadets and Crusaders will square-off Saturday for a doubleheader that begins at 12 p.m. Sunday's solo game will also be played at 12 p.m. from Freshman Field.

Army enters the weekend with a 27-16 overall mark and a second-best 7-4 record in the league. After dropping two games to Marist, Holy Cross has a record of 7-27 overall and are 3-6 in conference play.

Kasey McCravey notched five RBI in the first game against Quinnipiac to tie her career-high which she has achieved on three other occasions. She leads the Black Knights this season with 28 RBI. Alee Rashenskas has gone 58-for-143 to total a .406 batting average, and McCravey is hitting .389 after going 56-144.

Renee Poirier leads the pitching staff with a 3.05 ERA and has recorded 59 strikeouts through 94.1 innings. Kristen West leads the team in wins with 12, while Caroline Smith has pitched the most innings (102.2).
