Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Colgate on Senior Day

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's lacrosse team finishes out the home portion of its 2016 schedule on Wednesday afternoon when it faces Colgate in a 4 p.m. contest at Michie Stadium.
The Black Knights will honor seniors Anna Smith and Leah Wasserman during a Senior Day ceremony, as Wednesday marks final game at Michie Stadium for both players.

Army trimmed a five-goal deficit down to one late in the second half during an eventual 12-9 setback to American on April 16. Freshman Izzy McMahon netted a season-high four goals to lead the Black Knights, including three of Army's seven tallies in the second half.
ARMY WEST POINT (5-9, 0-6 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• McMahon landed her first conference honor on Monday, as she was recognized as Patriot League Rookie of the Week following her four-goal performance in the American game. She became the third Army player to earn a Patriot League weekly award this year (Nikki Polhamus, Rookie of the Week, Feb. 22; Amy Johnston, Attacker of the Week, Feb. 29).
• Junior Erin Jollota added a pair of markers, while sophomores Rachel Hornick and Amy Johnston, and freshman Kelsea Krauss all scored once against the Eagles.
• Johnston paces the team with 23 goals, 13 assists, 36 points and 51 draw controls on the season.
• Freshman Kayla Rowley leads Army with 39 ground balls this year, and ranks second in the Patriot League with 2.79 ground balls per game.
COLGATE (5-8, 3-3 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• Colgate comes into Wednesday on a two-game winning streak that included a 10-9 home victory over Bucknell on April 16.
• The Raiders got out to a fast start with an early four-goal advantage before holding off the Bison late in the contest to prevail for the one-goal win.
• Senior Emily Peebles led Colgate with four points on two goals and two assists in the Bucknell contest, while junior Isabel Kreitler finished with a hat trick.
• Kreitler has 24 goals to lead the Raiders through 13 games, while Peebles has 22 markers.

Army takes to the road for its final two games of the season, beginning with a contest at Boston University on Saturday, April 23 at 1 p.m. The Black Knights close out the year at Loyola on April 30.
