Women’s Lacrosse Set for Navy Game on Saturday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army-Navy Game presented by St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital is scheduled for Saturday, April 2 at noon as the Army West Point women's lacrosse team faces rival Navy for the first time in program history.
In the midst of their first varsity season, the Black Knights enter the weekend 0-3 against Patriot League opponents, while the Midshipmen come in with a 1-2 league mark.

Army climbed back to a two-goal deficit early in the second half of Wednesday's game at Holy Cross, but couldn't sustain the comeback bid in an eventual 15-7 loss to the Crusaders. Freshman Rachel Treweeke paced the Black Knights with three goals in the contest and became the fifth Army player to reach double-digit goals this season.
ARMY WEST POINT (5-6, 0-3 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• Army trailed Holy Cross, 7-2, with 11:40 remaining in the first half before back-to-back goals from Treweeke closed a 4-1 run and made the score 8-6 with 28:25 left in the second frame.
• Treweeke added her third straight goal with 4:59 to play, but the Crusaders sealed the victory by ending the contest on a 7-1 run.
• Sophomore Amy Johnston leads the Black Knights with 22 goals, 13 assists, 35 points and 45 draw controls. Her 4.09 draw controls per game rank tied for second in the Patriot League.
• Freshman goalkeeper Kayla Rowley finished the Holy Cross game with a season-high 11 saves, including six stops in the second half.
NAVY (6-4, 1-2 PATRIOT LEAGUE) NOTES
• Navy halted a three-game losing skid with an 11-5 home victory over Lehigh on March 30.
• Sophomore Julia Collins led the Midshipmen with four goals on five shots, while three others found the back of the net twice.
• Sophomore Jenna Collins paces Navy with 24 goals, 29 points and 39 draw controls on the year.
• Junior Morgan Young has three game-winning goals to lead the Patriot League, while sophomore Ingrid Boyum owns an 8.23 goals against average to rank second in the conference.
